Count Your Steps '10






Count Your Steps 2010 is a 6 week program. Originally developed by the South Carolina Dept. of Health and Environmental Control and the Office of Minority Health this program is used to address the health disparities among minority groups in South Carolina. Cardiovascular disease, diabetes, kidney disease, and certain types of cancer are just a few diseases that affect minority populations disproportionately. In 2004, nearly four and one-half million patients with heart disease were discharged from hospitals. The average length of stay in the hospital was almost 5 days. According to SC Vital and Morbidity Statistics Report, 9,148 South Carolinians died from heart disease in 2004. All of the aforementioned diseases are treatable and in some case preventable.
This is where the community is needed. Lack of knowledge and understanding of these problems is the root of the issue. Through the “Count Your Steps” program we will educate, inform, and encourage our communities to live healthier lives by eating better and getting active.


Christ Deliverance Church has customized this wonderful program to meet the needs of the people in our community in Rock Hil, SC. It will be an 6-week program beginning from June 13th thru July 25th. All patricipants will be equipped with a pedometer and a log book to record there progress!

You'll receive your six-week guide, pedometer, and log book to learn how to incorporate physical activity into your everyday life! Also as part of the program you'll receive a weekly email encouraging you to walk and tips on how to make small changes in daily habits that effect your life big time in the long run.
